WXB 102 Forever

                                                           by DJ Klyde

My Fellow XB Brethrens,

In the 90's, during the dawn of the internet, I was always searching online for anything that had to do with
WXB 102. Most I found were New Wave band sites like Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, The Cure etc.
But at the time though, there were no sites about WXB.

I would bookmark these New Wave band sites (Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, The Cure, etc.) that I
found, then went back to them the next time around I went online. After a while, It came to a point where
there were just too many of them in my bookmark cue. That was then I decided to create a website linking
all those sites that I accumulated over the years. That was the time WXB102forever.com was born. It (is)
a site where most of those XB-oriented bands' sites where linked into one single place.

This was in 2003.

One day, I happened to stumble upon Cool Carla's email address. So I emailed her and to my surprise it
was really her. So the rest was history....I interviewed her through email and (with her permission) posted
it on the site.

After a few weeks, I was contacted by a certain Michael Sutton who was then CEO of Sutton Records. He
then asked for Cool Carla's contact number. At first I was hesitant to give it to him. For Carla's privacy, I
asked for her permission if I could give it to Sutton. Carla then agreed to be contacted.

Soon we formed XB Internet at Live 365 and resurrected WXB 102 after being off the air for 18 years! At
first it was Cool Carla, DJ Sandman, DJ Hillary, and myself DJ Klyde broadcasting online.

This was in 2005.

We then recruited other original XB jocks such as The Ghost, Inggo, George Frederick, Naughty Natty,
Etc., and continued on broadcasting through Live365.

XB Internet (Live365) was the sound, and WXB102forever.com was the site. The two went hand-in-hand.
It was one. WXB102forever.com was the Official WXB site and the
first-ever WXB 102 site.

XB Internet was a huge success, garnering thousands of hits a day during the latter years of the decade.

In 2010, due to salary dispute between DJ George Frederick and Michael Sutton (who eventually became
the manager of WXB), George Frederick decided to leave Live365 and started out on his own forming
WXB102.net.

At first I thought GF would just create another internet radio that could be simply linked/ embedded from
WXB102forever.com. Later on I realized he wanted to completely break away from WXB102forever.com.

His departure gave WXB102forever.com no choice but to adapt and survive on its own. To me, it was
1987all over again. That dreaded year when I (we) lost XB because of politics.

With all the songs I accumulated over the years, I then decided to share them with anyone who stumbled
upon WXB102forever.com. This is when XB Jukebox was born. (XB Jukebox was actually one of the
shows I hosted when XB was resurrected in 2005 at WXB102forever.com).

I then downgraded the site from official site to a "tribute" site, then linking WXB102.net and clearly stating
-it is the "official" to avoid confusion amongst the listeners.

Having said that . . . for the record, WXB102forever.com is in no way, shape or form in a competition with
WXB102.net and its fans. My only goal here is simply for you to hear New Wave Music when you happen to
drop by. I am not here to gain fame nor fortune. I've been doing this for the pure love of WXB 102 and New
Wave music.

May the spirit of WXB be with you always. May WXB 102 live on forever.
